Since Croacia is joining the Schengen Area on December 31st, 2022, you will now need to have a Schengen visa in case your country requires one. Americans, Canadians, Mexicans, etc. can enter the Schengen Area only with passport and stay for a maximum of 90 days every 180 days.
What are the requirements to get a Croatia Digital Nomad Visa?
- Be able to do your business prime primarily via telecommunication technology, so that your work or tasks are not connected to the office
- Prove the purpose of your stay with an employment contract with a company abroad or your own
- Have a valid passport
- Provide health insurance proof which lasts for one year and is valid in Croatia
- Have sufficient funds to finance your living in Croatia which is around $2500 USD
- Provide a certificate that you do not have any kind of criminal charges or that you are not a threat to Croatian society
- Pay an administrative fee or approximately $130 USD
- All foreign documents must be translated and certified
How long does it take to get the Croatian Digital Nomad Visa?
The visa application administrative process is run by the Ministry of Inner Affairs and could be finished within 45 days; however, it usually takes 8 to 30 days.

You have to apply at the nearest embassy to your residency address.
What is the maximum length of stay in Croatia without a Digital Nomad Visa?
You can stay 90 days on a tourist visa.
