2 Immigrant Visas for Work, Family and Business for Greenland from Japan

You can apply for a permanent residence permit in Greenland by filling in and submitting an application form.

You can choose between 3 applications forms depending on the ground of your current residence permit. You can fill in the application form in Word format on your computer before printing it out. The application form is also available as a PDF file that can be printed out and filled in by hand.

You have held a temporary residence permit in Greenland for 3 years.

You must still meet the requirements for your residence permit.

You may not have overdue public debts above DKK 83,910.14 (2021 level).

You may not have been sentenced to conditional/unconditional incarceration or have been found guilty of another form of crime that can be punishable by incarceration while being a resident of Greenland.

Copy of all pages of your passport – including all empty pages and the passport’s front and back cover. Note: your passport must be valid for at least 2 months after your planned departure from Greenland.

Copy of employment contract stating your salary and terms of employment, as well as a job description. The employment contract must not more than 30 days old.

Proof of authorisation to work in your field (if the job requires a Danish or a Greenlandic authorization).

Your employer need to submit the permission to employ foreign labour in the job position - according to Landstingslov no. 27 of 30. October 1992 concerning the regulation of labour force increase in Greenland.

You need to submit an application to the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI).

As a general rule, you must have an employment agreement with a company registered in Greenland to be able to apply. However, there are certain exceptions, e.g. if you work for a foreign company that provides services in Greenland.
