The Montserrat Remote Worker Stamp or Montserrat Digital Nomad Visa is a 12-month travel authorization for foreign nationals working for organizations registered and conducting business outside of Montserrat but who are employed there (not carrying on business in or from Montserrat). 

The application costs for the Montserrat Remote Work Stamp are non-refundable, and each application must be accompanied by evidence of payment. Please be aware that applications are reviewed before being approved, and candidates must meet the prerequisites.

5 Eligibility Requirements

  • Work for an employer that is registered in a foreign country and you have a contract of work with that employer.
  • Conduct business activity for a company that is registered in a foreign country and of which you are a partner/shareholder.
  • Offer freelance or consulting services mostly to clients, whose permanent establishments are in a foreign country, and with whom you have contracts.
  • Prove that you can work location-independently using telecommunications technologies.
  • Be aware of is the income threshold, which is meant to provide evidence of how you will support yourself during your time in Montserrat. Currently, the annual income threshold is USD$70,000.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Montserrat Digital Nomad Visa?

11 Document Required

  • A completed application form.
  • Proof of Employment or Business Incorporation Certificate.
  • Proof of the annual income of the applicant, which must exceed USD$70,000 and be derived from outside of Montserrat.
  • Proof of valid health insurance with Montserrat and COVID-19 cover in respect of the applicant and any family member accompanying him for the period of which the Remote Employment Stamp is to be granted.
  • Proof of Visas (where applicable).
  • A list of the items the applicant wishes to import free of customs duties and consumption tax and which are necessary for or connected to the fulfilment of his employment duties while in Montserrat, if any.
  • Proof of relationship to dependants.
  • A passport size photograph.
  • A copy of their Birth Certificate.
  • A copy of the biographical data page of their passport (Passport must have a minimum of 6 months validity).
  • Crime clearance certificate.

  • Dependent means a son or stepson under the age of eighteen; any other family member of the applicant who is dependent on the applicant or his or her well-being due to physical or mental disability, age or disability.

  • Yes it's possible. To open a local bank account, you will need:
    1. The minimum opening deposit is XCD$50.00.
    2. Two valid photo IDs: (1) passport and (2) driver's license/social security/national ID card
    3. Proof of residential address - copy of utility bill or lease/lease agreement (with address)
    4. Employment letter for income verification and a copy of banker's current bank statement. If you are unemployed: 2 letters of recommendation from famous and respected bankers, lawyers, accountants, merchants or clients.

  • Families are eligible to apply to this program.
    For a family with up to three dependents, the Family Bundle Fee is USD$750.
    The fee for each new candidate is $250 USD.

  • You do not have to pay Montserrat Income Tax.
