What are eligibility requirements for the Significant Investor Permanent Resident Visa?

12 Eligibility Requirements

  • You must be a primary holder of Significant Investor stream provisional visa (subclass 188).
  • You must have held your complying investment under your provisional visa, for at least 4 years, at the time of applying for this visa.
  • You must have lived in Australia for an average of 40 days per year for the time you have held your provisional visa.
  • You and your partner must not have been involved in any business or investment activities that are unacceptable in Australia.
  • You must have a realistic commitment to continuing your business or investment activities in Australia.
  • If you operated a business in Australia, you and your partner must have followed the Commonwealth laws and laws of the territory where the business is established.
  • You must fill Form 1414 and send it, to have a current nomination from a state or territory, no need of creating a new Expression of Interest (EOI). Check the link for the entire process.
  • You should be of good health and meet the health requirement of Australia. Family members not accompanying also might be asked to meet the health requirement.
  • You must be willing to sign an Australian Values Statement. Check the link for information.
  • You must meet the Functional English language requirements. Please check the link for details.
  • You and your family members must have no debt to the Australian government.
  • You might not be eligible for this visa if you have had a visa cancelled or refused while you were in Australia.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Significant Investor Permanent Resident Visa?

11 Document Required

  • Copy of Passport biopage.
  • Identity documents or change of name proofs like marriage certificate (if applicable).
  • Form 1414 Nomination - Business Skills class, after getting sent by the Territory with the nomination mentioned on it.
  • 1-page summary of your current business and investment activities in Australia and 1-page summary of your Australian business and investment intentions in the long-term.
  • A written declaration stating you have complied with the laws of the Commonwealth, and of the state or territory where your business is located. Also include details of any time you breached the laws of the Commonwealth, and of the state or territory where your business is located.
  • Evidence from the Treasury Corporation that you have held your complying investment of min. AUD 5 million for 4 years. If the investment has already matured, the evidence can be written or emailed confirmation from the Treasury Corporation, bank statements confirming repayment of the amount.
  • Documents proving your residence and duration like ownership of residential property, rental receipts, etc. (if applicable).
  • Character documents: Australian Police, overseas police certificate from every country where you have spent 12 months in the last 10 years, military service records (if served), Form 80 Personal particulars for assessment including character assessment and Form 1221 Additional personal particulars information.
  • Nominations forms, in case you are getting some help from someone or agency in the entire process of this visa.
  • Provide identity, character and financial documents of your partner (if applicable).
  • Other documents related to dependents (as applicable).
