About

If you want to study and reside in Canada for more than 3 months, then you may want to apply for a student visa.

You can apply for this visa online or through a paper application. Processing times may vary from 1-4 week(s), depending on the visa office.

You can get the application guide package with the instruction guide and the forms to fill manually.

Before applying for a study permit at a Canadian visa office, you must first get a letter of acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).

The letter must be issued by the Canadian institution (e.g. school district, University, etc.) on official letterhead, show the exact amount of tuition fees you are required to pay, the anticipated starting and finishing dates and the date by which you need to register.

Once you have your acceptance letter, you can complete and submit an application for a study permit.

Citizens of certain countries or territories may require a TRV in order to travel to Canada, while others may require an eTA. Find out if you need a TRV or an eTA.

Note: All primary and secondary institutions in Canada are automatically designated and do not appear on the DLI List.

An international student, you may work under any Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s work programs for students, if you meet certain eligibility requirements. Learn more here.
