About

Working holiday visa is a residence permit allowing you to undertake employment and holiday (and sometimes study) up to 1 year in Colombia. For many young people, holding a working holiday visa enables you to experience living in Colombia without undergoing the usual costly expenses of finding work sponsorship in advance or going on expensive university exchange programmes.


You need to:

  • have enough money to pay for a return ticket, and

  • be coming mainly on holiday, with work being a secondary intention.

What are eligibility requirements for the Pacific Alliance work and holiday visa?

6 Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant need a valid passport for at least 3 months.
  • Applicant must be at least 18 and no more than 30 years old (inclusive) at the time of application.
  • Applicant must not be accompanied by children.
  • Applicant must have a return travel ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket.
  • Applicant must have enough funds for maintenance during the period of initial stay in Colombia.
  • Applicant must have a medical and comprehensive hospitalization insurance to remain in force throughout the stay in the Colombia.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Pacific Alliance work and holiday visa?

8 Document Required

  • Complete and signed Application form.
  • Confirmed Flight ticket/Flight itinerary. You can provide a one-way flight booking.
  • Current bank statements, credit cards statements, travel cheques or money orders.
  • Criminal Record Certificate.
  • Copies of medical and comprehensive hospitalisation insurance for 12 months.
  • Copies of valid passport (like the bio page, past visas, etc.).
  • Hotel bookings or accommodation details (hold accommodation for at least your first day in Colombia).
  • Passport-size photograph (a colored clear picture with a white background).
