What are eligibility requirements for the Costa Rica Working Holiday Visa?

  • Applicant must be Canadian citizen.
  • Applicant must have a departure ticket leaving Costa Rica at the end of authorized period of stay.
  • Applicant must be between the age of 18 and 35 inclusive.
  • Applicant must have enough funds for maintenance during the period of initial stay in Canada.
  • Applicant must not be accompanied by dependants.
  • Applicant must be of good character.
  • Applicant must have comprehensive health insurance in Canada.
  • Applicant must pay the visa fee.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Costa Rica Working Holiday Visa?

  • Visa application form, completed and signed.
  • Copies of valid passport (like the bio page, past visas, etc.).
  • Proof of sufficient means of subsistence (eg. bank statements).
  • Copies of travel health insurance.
  • Copies of flight ticket reservation or proof of sufficient funds to purchase one.
  • One recent passport photo.
  • Copies of the Birth Certificate.
  • Copies of the police record/criminal record check.
  • Visa fee payment receipt.
