Finland student residence permit is issued to a foreign student to wants to stay and study in Finland for duration of more than 90 days

Work during studies:
The residence permit for studies enables you to work without restrictions if your work is related to your degree. This means practical training and thesis work. You also have a right to have other jobs but the following restrictions apply:
You may only work for an average of 25 hours per week during the academic terms.
The number of working hours is not restricted on a weekly level. This means that you can adjust your weekly working hours during the academic term, as long as you work for 25 hours a week on average.
You can work without restrictions at the times when your educational institution offers no instruction..

The processing time for study visa may take from 6-12 weeks from the application day.
You can bring spouse and kids with you.

  • You need to complete the application form
  • You must be accepted by your hosting Finnish university or educational institute
  • You need a valid passport that exceeds the duration of the your study period by 3 months.
  • You need sufficient funds to cover your studies or a scholarship which confirms the payment of the tuition fees
  • You may require valid travel insurance covering the entire period of stay
  • You should be of good character and health

  • Orginal & copies of official letter of acceptance by hosting university or college in Finland
  • Original and copy of recent bank statements (6-12 months)
  • Copies of travel medical insurance document
  • Original & copies of Police certificate or clearance letter of no criminal record
  • Copies of valid passport (including the bio page, past visas, etc)
  • Original and copy of flight itinerary
