A working holiday visa is a residence permit allowing you to undertake employment and holiday (and sometimes study) in Malaysia, For many young people, holding a working holiday visa enables you to experience living in Malaysia without undergoing the usual costly expenses of finding work sponsorship in advance or going on expensive university exchange programmes.

  • be coming mainly on holiday, with work being a secondary intention.

What are eligibility requirements for the Working Holiday Visa?

9 Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must be a New Zealand Citizen resident in New Zealand at the time of application
  • Applicant must be 18-30 years old (inclusive)
  • Applicant must have a New Zealand passport
  • Applicant must have sufficient financial resources to cover expenses in the initial phase
  • Applicant must have a return flight ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket
  • Applicant must be in good health.
  • Applicant must have comprehensive medical insurance for the length of stay in Malaysia
  • Applicant must not be accompanied by dependents.
  • Applicant must pay visa fee

Which documents do I need to apply for the Working Holiday Visa?

  • Visa application form, completed and signed
  • Copies of valid passport (like the bio page, past visas, etc)
  • Copies of return travel tickets or proof of enough funds to buy one.
  • Copies of police clearance certificate.
  • Copies of proof of sufficient funds (bank statements, credit card statements, bank drafts or travelers cheques)
  • Copy of travel health insurance
  • Copies of medical examination test
  • Receipt of visa fee payment
