If you wish to work and reside in Malaysia for more than 3 months, a work permit is required. Work permits in Malaysia are usually obtained by the employer.

What are eligibility requirements for the Malaysia Work Visa/Permit?

8 Eligibility Requirements

  • Your employers must get the PASS Immigration Security Clearance (ISC)
  • Your employers must apply to the Immigration Department for a Visa with Reference (VDR) approval before employing foreign workers
  • You need a valid Passport for at least 18 months
  • You need to undergo medical tests
  • You must possess the required skill/experience demanded by the job offered
  • You need insurance policy of Health Insurance Protection Scheme Foreign Workers (SPIKPA)

Which documents do I need to apply for the Malaysia Work Visa/Permit?

6 Document Required

  • Visa application form, completed and signed
  • Approval letter from Ministry of Home Affairs
  • Original receipt of payment of visa fee
  • IM.12 and IM.38 Forms, completed and signed
  • Security bond - deposits / insurance guarantee / bank guarantee (insurance guarantee must be stamped and valid for at least 18 months )
