If you wish to work in the Netherlands as a start-up entrepreneur, you need a residence permit for this.

The startup visa is a residence permit which is valid for a maximum of one year. In this year, you'll be expected to produce or introduce an innovative new product or service under the guidance of an experienced facilitator.

Application process:

1. Submit application and payment

2. Get receipt and check application

3. Decision

4. Collect MVV (provisional residence permit)

5. Travel to the Netherlands

NOTE: If you are from San Marino or Israel, based on the Benelux Treaty you do not pay for the application.

What are eligibility requirements for the Netherlands Startup visa?

9 Eligibility Requirements

  • You must have a valid passport or another travel document. A child may be included in the passport of one of the parents.
  • You have not previously been in the Netherlands illegally.
  • You must be willing sign an antecedents certificate providing information on your clean criminal record.
  • After having arrived in the Netherlands, you must be willing to undergo a medical test for tuberculosis.
  • You must collaborate with a reliable and experienced facilitator.
  • The product or the service you planning to provide should be innovative.
  • You, as the start-up entrepreneur must have a step-by-step plan in order to move from idea to business.
  • The start-up entrepreneur and the facilitator should both be registered in the Trade register of the Chamber of Commerce.
  • You must have sufficient funds to be able to reside in the Netherlands.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Netherlands Startup visa?

7 Document Required

  • A copy of the passport with your identity details. Make copies of all the pages with travel stamps as well.
  • A declaration of clean criminal record.
  • A declaration of you have not been previously in Netherlands Illegally.
  • A business plan with innovative idea benefiting the economy of Netherlands.
  • The signed agreement between you and the facilitator.
  • You must have his fingerprints and facial image (passport photo) taken to determine his identity.
  • You or facilitator can apply online on business portal. Please refer the link.
