7 Eligibility Requirements

  • You must be accepted for studies from the Romanian Ministry of Education.
  • You must pay the tuition fee for at least one academic year.
  • You must have means of support at the level of the minimum guaranteed gross salary, monthly, for the entire period specified in the visa.
  • You must have clean criminal record.
  • You must have travel medical insurance that covers the entire duration of the requested period of stay.
  • You must have knowledge of the language of the study programme to be followed, with the exception of the preparatory year of Romanian language.
  • You must have a travel document valid for at least three months after the estimated day of exit from Romania.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Student Visa (symbol D/SD)?

10 Document Required

  • The application form, appropriately filled in and signed.
  • 2 recent colour photos (size 3x4cm).
  • Copies of valid travel document that is recognized by Romania.
  • Proof of acceptance for studies from the Romanian Ministry of Education, attesting that the visa applicant will attend a full-time course of study at a state or private higher education institution, accredited or provisionally authorized according to Law.
  • Proof of payment of the tuition fee for at least one academic year.
  • Proof of means of support at the level of the minimum guaranteed gross salary, monthly, for the entire period specified in the visa.
  • Criminal record or any other document of equivalent legal value.
  • Copies of travel medical insurance that covers the entire duration of the requested period of stay.
  • If you are underage, the consent of your parents or of your legal guardian for the purpose of residing in Romania for studies.
  • Proof of knowledge of the language of the study programme to be followed, with the exception of the preparatory year of Romanian language for foreign citizens.
