Foreign students who wish to study and reside in Russia for more than 3 months, need to apply for a student long stay visa. which is renewable till the course ends.

The processing time for study visa may take from 2-5 weeks from the application day.

You can bring spouse and kids with you.

Note: Special work permit for students can also be applied while you are studying to work along the course as well. Students can work only according to the profession specified in the permit, and in the region (city) where their university is located

The general application process is ;

What are eligibility requirements for the Russian Student Visa?

5 Eligibility Requirements

You must have a passport valid no less than 18 months from the day the visa starts
You must be successfully accepted in one of the full time courses of approved Russian universities/colleges
You must have an invitation letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Federal Migration Service of Russia or the university
You must have negative HIV test results, done in the recent 3 months
You must be able to cover your course fees or show a scholarship which confirms the payment of the tuition fees
