If you are a foreign citizen or a stateless person and have the intention to carry on business in Russia without forming of legal entity as a sole proprietor , then you are eligible for becoming an individual entrepreneur or a self-employed individual.

Application Process:

  1. Obtain a part or full-time residence in the Russian Federation.
  2. Define the scope of your business.
  3. Prepare the set of the required documents for registering.
  4. File the required documents to the register office.
  5. Receive the incorporation documents.
  6. Manufacture the seal.
  7. Open a bank account.

Special instructions:

  1. Documents are filled in (issued) in Russian. Documents in a foreign language are subject to assurance by an apostille or consular legalisation and the subsequent translation into Russian. Translation should be notarized.
  2. Authenticity of the applicant’s signature on the application should be notarized.
  3. Documents, in which the authenticity of the applicant’s signature is witnessed by a foreign notary, are subject to assurance by an apostille or consular legalisation and subsequent translation into Russian. Translation should be notarized.

5 Eligibility Requirements

  • The registration as an individual businessman can be made by any citizen who has reached the age of majority and is fully capable, if his/her activities don’t come under special courts restrictions.
  • Need to be registered with permanent residence in Russia. To know more on getting a residence certificate, check the link.
  • The following are banned from registration as individual entrepreneurs: Citizens with disabilities, including those who abuse alcohol or drugs, Civil servants or employees of the municipal authorities, Persons with no official permanent residence in the territory of the Russian Federation, Citizens who have not attained the age of majority, without the appropriate permits.
  • Need to have valid travel document and originals of other applicable documents.
  • You must have a business plan at the time of registration.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Russia Individual Entrepreneur Visa?

6 Document Required

  • Notarized statement signed by the applicant on the state registration of a person as an individual entrepreneur (form R21001).
  • A copy of the document certifying your identity as a foreign citizen or stateless person. Confirmation of your date and place of birth is required.
  • A copy of the document confirming your right for part or full-time residence in the Russian Federation and the complete address of residence.
  • Documents on payment of a state duty.
  • The document which determines the presence or absence of a conviction, and/or the fact of criminal prosecution or of the criminal prosecution dismissal.
  • In case where a person registered as an individual entrepreneur, is a minor, the document confirming the right of the person to conduct business is needed.
