Student visa is called a “Student Pass” in Singapore. To apply for a Student’s Pass, you must be accepted into an approved full-time course in Singapore. Part-time courses and courses conducted in the evening or on weekends are not eligible.


International students are allowed to work for a maximum of 16 hours a week

Your Student’s Pass will only be issued if you meet all the conditions stipulated in this letter. You must then bring all the documents listed in your IPA letter to your local embassy. .

What are eligibility requirements for the Singapore Student Pass?

6 Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must be accepted by an educational institution in Singapore
  • Applicants passport bio data page
  • Applicants recent passport-sized colour photograph taken within the last three months
  • Your personal information, including the list of countries you have previously resided in, your educational background, employment history and financial support
  • You may require valid travel insurance covering the entire period of stay.
  • A completed Disembarkation/Embarkation Card (D/E Card)

Which documents do I need to apply for the Singapore Student Pass?

6 Document Required

  • The Registration Acknowledgement Letter from the school you plan to attend.
  • A photocopy of applicants passport biodata page (valid for at least six months from the date of your entry into Singapore)
  • Applicants recent passport-sized colour photograph. Please see Photo Guidelines for information on photo requirements
  • The printout of eForm 16 submitted through SOLAR (duly signed by the applicant)
  • A medical report in the prescribed format (available on ICA’s website)
  • A completed Disembarkation/Embarkation Card (D/E Card)
