Foreign students who wish to study and reside in Sri Lanka for more than 6 months, need to apply for a student visa in the nearest embassy or consulate of the home country or country of residence.

  • You need a passport/travel document valid for at least 12 months
  • You need sufficient funds to cover your studies or a scholarship which confirms the payment of the tuition fees
  • You must to be accepted/enrolled in a course of an approved university/college in Sri Lanka
  • You should be of good character and health
  • You need to have details of accommodation in Sri Lanka
  • You may require valid travel insurance covering the entire period of your studies
