What are eligibility requirements for the Entrepreneur Visa (Startup award)?

10 Eligibility Requirements

  • You need a passport valid for at least 6 months.
  • You need an agreement, contract or MoU, etc. signed by the applicant and the park or incubator in which the applicant has received approval to locate.
  • Or, If you have been awarded a patent either in Taiwan or overseas you need a patent certificate issued by Taiwan’s Intellectual Property Office, MOEA.
  • Or, If you have been awarded in a leading domestic or overseas business start-up or design competition you need the following.
  • A Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation & Startups Award of Excellence certificate.
  • A Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (MOEA) Taiwan Innovation Competition (TIC) award.
  • Or, DEMO God Awards award.
  • Or, Red Dot Awards award.
  • Or, iF Design Awards award
  • Or, an IDEA award.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Entrepreneur Visa (Startup award)?

16 Document Required

  • If you participate in a ROC national entrepreneurial park: photocopy of the collaboration agreement, contract or MoU etc. (covering the provision of incubator services, operational guidance, or business cultivation, etc.
  • If you have been awarded a patent either in Taiwan or overseas: photocopy of a patent certificate issued by Taiwan’s Intellectual Property Office, MOEA or a photocopy of a patent certificate issued by a patent issuing agency in a foreign country.
  • If you have been awarded in a leading domestic or overseas business start-up or design competition, the following documents are required.
  • A photocopy of a Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation & Startups Award of Excellence certificate.
  • Or, A photocopy of a Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (MOEA) Taiwan Innovation Competition (TIC) award certificate.

  • 2 passport-size photos.
  • Original and photocopy of passport.
  • Professional and academic certificates.
  • Medical Certificate.
  • Original Police Clearance Certificate.
