Financial documentation that you can support yourself during your stay in Denmark.

Documentation of company ownership (if applicable).

 Applicant business idea must be approved by a panel of experts appointed by the Danish Business Authority.

Applicant's business must contribute innovative ideas and potential for development to the Danish business community.

Applicant must have sufficient funds to cover the first year in Denmark. 

Applicant must play an active part in running the business, and your presence must be necessary for the establishment of the business.

Applicant must create an case order ID for the application and pay a fee to cover SIRI’s case processing expenses.

 Applicant must pay the fee and submit application in the same calendar year.

Applicant must contact and make an agreement with a Danish family about being an au pair with them.

Applicant must be at least 18 years old, but have must not have turned 30 years old.

Applicant must not be or have been married, be or have been in a stable cohabiting relationship or have been in a civil partnership.

Applicant must not be expecting a child unless you are already staying in Denmark as an au pair and wishes to change your host family.

When SIRI assesses whether your stay as an au pair is in accordance with your life story, or whether there is a reason to assume that your purpose for applying differs from the intention behind the scheme, SIRI will look at the following:

Whether applicant have completed a youth study programme equivalent to the Danish 9th grade.

Whether applicant is able to communicate with host family and manage his/herself in Denmark. Thus, applicant must be able to speak and understand either Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English or German on a moderate level.

Applicant reason for applying to stay as an au pair in Denmark.

Any previous residence permits or applications for residence permits in Denmark.

Any previous stays as an au pair in other western countries.

Any previous stays with host families in Denmark.

Applicant education and any vocational experience, including whether a stay as an au pair has a natural connection to applicant life, career and development so far.

The agreement between the applicant and the host family must be set by a binding au pair contract which establishes the framework for the stay as an au pair with the family.

Documentation of your ability to support yourself and any family members accompanying you can be in the form of a bank statement.

Documentation that your are enrolled in an educational institution in your home country (if you are a guest or exchange student).

Applicant must be admitted to a higher educational programme at a publicly accredited educational institution in Denmark.

Applicant must have sufficient funds: If disposable amount corresponds to DKK 6,166 per month (2019 level). You must multiply the amount with the number of months you will be studying in a higher educational programme in Denmark – for a maximum of 12 months.

Applicant must be able to speak and understand the language of instruction. Applicant must be able to understand either Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English or German with a reasonable level of proficiency.

The educational programme must be approved by a state authority or by the Danish Evaluation Institute, EVA.
