When the application is submitted, the applicant’s facial likeness and fingerprint will be taken for the residence permit issued with biometric data.

In the case of employment in a country other than Hungary, a certificate from an employer stating the scope of the employer's activities, the provision on remote, electronic work and its duration and the duties and the position of the third-country national.

In the case of an company with a verified profit, a document stating information on the actual operation of the business, the duties and the position of the third-country national, the scope of the company's activities, and his/her ownership of shares in the company.

The income and the profitable operation of the company (e.g. by means of a tax certificate), the registration of the company by the public authorities, or any other document.

The requirement of subsistence may, in particular, be verified by: a certificate issued by the employer evidencing regular income or a certificate issued by the tax authority.

Compliance with the requirement of accommodation in Hungary may be verified by a residential lease contract in proof of the rental of a residence; a document on accommodation by courtesy; a document in proof of ownership of the residential property, by means of a certified copy of title deed issued within 30 days to date; a valid letter of invitation with an official certificate affixed; documentary evidence to verify the reservation of accommodation and payment; a notarised statement made by a family member with the right of residence in Hungary as holding a long-term visa or residence permit, with immigrant or permanent resident status, holding a residence card or a permanent residence card in accordance with specific other legislation, or with refugee status, promising lodging to the applicant; or a real estate sales contract and a copy of the decision of the competent Budapest or county government agency granting permission for the acquisition of a real estate property.

Proof of having access to comprehensive health insurance services (in particular on the basis of specific other legislation on the social security system, international agreement, or under specific agreement), or that he/she has the necessary financial resources to cover the costs of such services.

A valid passport or the permits necessary for the third-country national for returning to his/her country of origin, or to the country he/she indicates.

A valid ticket for departure, or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket, or a means of transport lawfully used by the third-country national.

Enclosed with the application the third-country national is required to provide a statement undertaking the commitment of voluntary departure from the territory of the Member States of the European Union if the application is refused.

Do not pursue any gainful activity in Hungary and does not hold a share in a Hungarian company.

Be able to work for your employer or company remotely from Hungary using technology.

Be a third country national: non-Hungarian citizens and stateless persons except for persons having the right of free movement and residence.

Monthly income of at least 2,000USD monthly. You must have this quantity for 6 months before entry.

Have a place of Hungarian accommodation that must be a property shown in the real estate register as a residential building or detached house, or any similar property suitable for habitation (minimum 6 square meters of living space per person) or a commercial or other accommodation deemed appropriate by law.

Meet the general conditions for staying in Hungary for more than 90 days within any 180 day period and is not subject to any of the disqualifications provided by law.

A medical certificate from a recognized state or private body, showing that the applicant does not suffer from a disease capable of posing a risk to public health in accordance with the international data of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the EU acquis, as well as other infectious, contagious or parasitic diseases, which require measures to protect public health (more information on infectious diseases can be found on the website of the Hellenic National Public Health Organization - EODY).

A solemn declaration stating that you will reside in Greece with the intention of providing distant work and that you will not provide any services to employers based in Greece. 

For employed digital nomads: Proof of employment with an employer (natural or legal person) established outside of Greece for any period which covers the visa issue time.

For self-employed digital nomads: Information on your status as well as on the name, registered office, field of activity and corporate purpose of being self-employed in your own undertaking outside Greece. 

Proof of sufficient economic resources (around $3500USD monthly) to cover your living expenses without being a burden to the national social system.

A complete and signed application form with a recent colored photograph complying with the ICAO specification. The application shall be in the form of a solemn statement provided for in the provisions of paragraph 6 of Article 22 of L. 1599/1986 declaring that the included data are true and the supporting documents are not false or falsified. 

Passport valid for at least three months from the date of departure from Greece. In cases of urgency it may be waived. All passports must be issued within the previous decade and contain at least 2 blank pages. 

Criminal records from your country of residence for the past year (either ACRO certificate or DBS Enhanced certificate are accepted and they should be issued within the last 6 months from the date of the application submitted at the VAC).

Travel insurance policy with a period of validity being the same as the one of the visa. It must cover repatriation for medical reasons, emergency medical care and hospital care.
