The Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa allows nationals of non-EU and non-EEA countries that work remotely using telecommunication technology to stay temporary in Cyprus, and work for an employer registered abroad or for organizations or clients outside of the Republic of Cyprus.


The government of Cyprus approved this scheme to increase the country's position as a hub for digital nomads who will benefit from the governmental offerings and help the economy grow in terms of business environment.


How can I apply for the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa?

To apply for the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa, you need to make an appointment through the online platform and submit the pertinent application with the documents required at the Department's offices in Nicosia within three months of arrival in order to obtain a temporary residence permit. You can also submit the necessary application if you already residing in Cyprus but under a different law.

What are eligibility requirements for the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa?

5 Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a national of countries outside of the European Union or the European Economic Area
  • Be self-employed or employed by a foreign-registered business that allows for remote work
  • Be able to work regardless of your physical location
  • Have a consistent monthly net income of at least €3500 after tax deductions.
  • If you want to apply with your family members, the monthly income requirement is increased 20% per spouse and 15% per child.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa?

13 Document Required

  • IMPORTANT: All documents must be officially translated and certified when submitting applications.
  • Biometric information (picture and fingerprints) will be taken when you attend your appointment
  • Copy of a valid passport or travel document. It must have a validity of at least three months from the date in which you submitted your application
  • Copy of passport or other travel document page that shows your last entry in the Republic of Cyprus
  • If you are self-employed: Contracts of the projects or services you offer which will last at least the same time as you are applying for the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa e.g. 1 year. You also need a confirmation that you can perform your duties remotely and will not provide services to a client in Cyprus
  • If you are an employee: 1) You need to show your employment contract with a duration of at least the time you will stay in Cyprus e.g. 1 year. 2) You need to show your employer's confirmation that you can perform remotely and that they do not have any business activity in Cyprus. 3) Stamped copy of the company's registration certificate abroad (legal name, registered base, activity field and corporate purpose. 4) Your status information in the company.
  • Salary and bank account checks that you have enough income for monthly living resources (at least €3500)
  • Original Certificate of Criminal Record from the country of origin or residence
  • Original blood analysis doctor-certified results showing that the applicant does not bear/suffer from HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C and chest x-rays for tuberculosis (TB)
  • Certificate of Health Insurance for medical care that covers inpatient and outpatient care and transportation of corpse
  • Title deed or rental agreement of a house/apartment. If it is valued over €5000, it must be stamped.
  • If you apply with your family: affirmation commitment that your family members will not work in Cyprus.
  • All these documents must be accompanied by the form MVIS4
