Foreigners are legally required to obtain a work visa which provides you with full authorization to live and work in Argentina. Applications for a working visa may only be submitted at the Consular Office of the Argentine Republic in the place of residence of the foreign national. After which the temporary residence visa application should be submitted to the Argentinian Embassy or consulate in the applicant’s country of residence or origin.


A Temporary Residence Visa is initially granted for up to 12 months and is renewable. The DNI (Documento Nacional de Identidad) card is issued with validity in line with the visa.


Processing time for this visa may vary, depending on your nationality and work contract.


You can bring your spouse and kids with you.

The general application process is:

  1. Get the employment letter or Work contract from the employer in Argentina.

  2. Prepare your visa application and gather other required documents for it.

  3. Apply for a Work visa and prepare to move to Argentina.

  • You must possess the required skill/experience demanded by the job offered.
  • You need a job offer from an employer in Argentina.
  • You should be of good character and health.
  • You need valid travel insurance covering the entire period of stay in Argentina.
  • You need to pay consular fee.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Argentina Work Visa?

10 Document Required

  • Visa application form filled out (preferably in electronic format) and signed by the applicant.
  • Copies of valid passport (like the bio page, past visas, etc).
  • Copies of work experience from previous employers.
  • Copies of proof of address within the jurisdiction of the Consulate (such as a utility bill or other document that serves as proof).
  • An apostilled or legalized certificate of good conduct issued by the competent authority of the countries where you resided for more than one year over the previous three years.
  • Commitment to tell the truth or Sworn affidavit of their lack of a criminal record in other countries, signed before the consul.
  • Employment contract signed by the employer and including the registration number of the contracting company with the National Registry of Petitioners on behalf of Foreign Applicants (RENURE). The signature of the company's representative must be certified by an Argentine Notary Public and the relevant Association of Notaries Public.
  • Receipt of payment of migration fee.
  • Receipt of payment of consular fee.
  • Consular interview.
