Non-EU students who wish to study and reside in Cyprus for more than 3 months, need to apply for a student long stay visa (D-visa). This visa allows you to study and work part-time depending on the policy of the university and your course.


The processing time for study visa may take from 6-12 weeks from the application day.

You can bring your spouse and kids with you.


The passport remains at the Embassy / Consulate during the entire process of visa proceeding


The general application process is;


  1. Find a course in an approved educational institution of Cyprus

  2. Contact the university and initiate your application process.

  3. Find out the requirements from the university to get the acceptance/admission letter.

  4. Get the acceptance/registration letter from the university in Cyprus

  5. Prepare your visa application and gather other required documents for it.

  6. Apply for a student visa and prepare to move to Cyprus


You can work part-time for a maximum of 20 hours weekly during studies in Cyprus.

  • Applicant must be enrolled in a university or college in Cyprus.
  • Applicant must have valid travel document.
  • Applicant must have clean criminal record.
  • Applicant must pay registration fee of Educational Institute.
  • Applicant must have sufficient mean of subsistence to live in cyprus.
  • Applicant must have place of accommodation in Cyprus.

Which documents do I need to apply for the Temporary Residence Permit (Pink Slip) - Student Visa?

8 Document Required

  • Duly certified copy of passport or other travel document, with a validity of at least the expected duration of studies.
  • In cases of minors, duly certified parental approval of the suggested residence, with official translation in Greek or English.
  • Duly certified copy of criminal record from the official authorities of the country of residence with official translation in Greek or English.
  • Duly certified original medical examinations for Hepatitis B and C, AIDS/HIV, Syphilis and report of chest X-ray for Tuberculosis from country of origin with validity of four months.
  • Acceptance letter from an Educational Institution, in order to register to a program of studies, including a description of the specific program of studies and its duration.
  • Receipt of payment of registration fees to the Educational Institution.
  • Duly certified copy of confirmation letter from a Banking Institution in his country of residence, of his financial ability to cover tuition fees, living and repatriation expenses or duly certified confirmation letter of scholarship, issued by the awarding institution, if this is in his country of residence.
  • Application Form M58 thoroughly completed and signed.
