Mauritius Digital Nomad Visa also known as The Premium Visa encourages foreigners to visit the country and work remotely. You can stay for one year and can further renew your permit.


The process of visa application is 100% remotely and free of charge. You will receive your e-visa on your email address and only be required of a payment if your visa is accepted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


You need a minimum of $1500USD monthly income to apply.

What are eligibility requirements for the Mauritius Digital Nomad Visa?

  • Do not enter the Mauritius Labour market.
  • Have the main place of business and source of income and profits outside Mauritius
  • Comply with the required documents to support application (see list below).

Which documents do I need to apply for the Mauritius Digital Nomad Visa?

10 Document Required

  • Premium Visa Application Form duly filled online
  • Bio data page of Passport
  • Passport Size Photo
  • Copy of airline ticket (including return ticket for intended period of stay – beyond 6 months)
  • Travel and Health Insurance for intended period of stay
  • Letter of accommodation for intended period of stay which can be either hotel booking, lease or rental agreement or letter of sponsorship, proof of address, copy ID or residence permit.
  • Copy recent bank statements for the last three months or other proof of income/funds.
  • If you apply with your spouse, you also need a Spouse or Married Certificate (in English or French Language)
  • If you apply with your children, you need their Birth Certificate (in English or French Language), and a letter of consent if accompanied by one parent only
  • The office might require other documents for you as you apply

  • Yes, you can apply if you are already in the country under a tourist visa.

  • If your income is foreign-earned, you will not pay any taxes if you make a declaration. Any source you acquire from Mauritius will be taxes, and if you add any funds to a bank account in the country, you might also be liable to taxation.

  • The application is free of charge. You will only pay a government fee is your visa is accepted and successful.
