If you want to work and reside in the United Arab Emirates for more than 6 months. You need a long term work permit, which is usually applied by the employer at MoHRE. The work permit allows the holder to enter the UAE for employment and it is valid for two months from the date of issue. After the employee enters the UAE on the basis of the work permit, the sponsoring company arranges to complete the formalities of medical testing, obtaining UAE Resident Identity (Emirates ID) Card, Labour Card and stamping the work residency permit on his passport within a scope of 60 days.

The processing time for work visa may take from 6-12 weeks from the application day.

  • Your age should be in between 18 and 60 years
  • You need a job offer from an employer in UAE.
  • You should be of good character and health
  • You need to have details of accommodation at your destination

Which documents do I need to apply for the UAE Work Visa?

  • Visa application form, completed and signed
  • Copies of valid passport (like the bio page, past visas, etc)
  • Recent passport size photo
  • Copies of work experience from previous employers
  • Copies of job offer letter from an employer
  • Character and health certificate (as applicable)
  • If you are not a national of your country of residence, please provide proof of your legal residency in this country (e.g. residence permit, etc.)
  • Identity documents like birth certificate, marriage certificate, common law certificate (as applicable)
  • Copies of the academic degree attested by the competent authorities as per the ministry’s procedures
